Cable routing from the floor via a cable ladder to cable clamps on the wall and a cable tray on the ceiling.
Functional maintenance through cable management systems
Safety for people and buildings
Maintaining the functionality of cables is a key component of modern fire protection concepts. Fire alarm systems, emergency lighting, smoke extraction systems or rescue lifts: modern buildings rely on safe cable systems and high-performance networking to ensure power supply and communication in the event of a fire. In critical buildings such as hospitals, airports or office complexes, safety-related systems must also continue to function reliably. PohlCon supports planners and fire safety officers with tested cable management systems that ensure functional integrity in accordance with DIN 4102-12 and the requirements of MLAR – economical, standard-compliant and easy to install.
Functional maintenance in accordance with standards
Standard-compliant support structures in accordance with DIN 4102-12
PohlCon offers both standard support structures and system-specific support structures in accordance with DIN 4102-12 with E30 functional maintenance. Under fire conditions, they maintain the function of the cable system for at least 30 minutes.
In the case of normed supporting constructions, the entire installation system consisting of cable and support system is tested and evaluated. Parameters such as cable load, support spacing, route width and cable weight are clearly defined. Planners can freely select cables tested for normed supporting constructions in combination with the cable manufacturers' usability certificates – without being tied to a specific support system. This offers you maximum flexibility.
System-specific solutions offer more planning freedom thanks to extended parameters and represent a particularly economical and installation-friendly alternative. The selection of the support system and cable is directly linked – free combinations are not possible here.

Load-bearing solutions for functional maintenance
Our cable trays and cable ladders with functional maintenance meet strict fire safety requirements and are essential for high-performance cable systems with high cable loads. They allow for safe installation options in accordance with DIN 4102-12 and can be flexibly integrated into a wide variety of building structures. This allows you to combine fire safety, cost-effectiveness and planning reliability in one well-designed cable management system.
Cable clamps designed for functional maintenance ensure that cables are held securely even in extreme heat. Our tested cable clamps and fastening systems are part of comprehensive fire protection solutions for escape and rescue routes in accordance with MLAR. This ensures that cables do not fall down and that escape routes remain safe to use for at least 30 minutes.

Planners can choose from our system-tested supporting structures and installation solutions for necessary corridors on a project-specific basis.
Normed supporting constructions and specified support systems
In the case of normed supporting constructions, the entire installation system (cables and support system) is tested and evaluated. Parameters such as cable load, support spacing, route width and cable weight are clearly defined. Proof of usability is provided by a general building inspection test certificate (abP). In combination with the usability certificates from the cable manufacturers, planners can freely select cables that have been tested for standard support structures – without being tied to a specific support system.
Specified support systems offer more planning freedom thanks to extended parameters, but link the selection of the support system and cable directly to each other – free combinations are not possible here. Usability is proven exclusively by case-specific test certificates.
PohlCon offers both types of support structures for cable systems.
Support systems for single and multiple cabling
Depending on the amount of cable to be laid, different support structures are used.
For single cabling, cable clamps with or without long trays are suitable, which are mounted on profile rails or vertical ladders.
For multiple cabling, cable trays and ladders are used, which are attached to the building structure via wall brackets or ceiling rods.Function maintenance classes
Our components designed for functional maintenance comply with classes E30, E60 and E90 – depending on requirements, application and proof of usability.
