Horchheim Tunnel
In the south of Koblenz is the Horchheim Tunnel, built in 1902, which connects the Horchheim Bridge to the Koblenz-Pfaffendorf junction on a single track. Due to environmental influences, such as the ingress of mountain water, the structure deteriorated to such an extent that the tunnel reached the end of its useful life in 2021. A complete overhaul was urgently required.

The Berlin skyline is growing and another building was added in November 2023. With the 142 m high EDGE East Side Tower Berlin near ‘Warschauer Brücke’, one of Berlin's tallest buildings was built in just under 4 years. EUREF Campus
The Schöneberg district of Berlin is home to a gasometer that was decommissioned in 1995. It is clearly visible from afar and is an eye-catcher when passing by on the S-Bahn or on the nearby city highway. The 78-metre-high scaffolding has shaped the cityscape of Berlin for 110 years, is considered a striking landmark of Schöneberg and today forms the center of the EUREF campus.

Bauhaus arcade houses
The arcade houses in Peterholzstraße in the south of Dessau have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2017. The five houses were designed by Bauhaus director and architect Hannes Meyer and completed in 1930 after a construction period of just eight months. The apartments were affordable, especially for social classes with low incomes, and were also modern by the standards of the time.

The Cyprus Planetarium
In September 2023, the island's first planetarium and the largest observatory in the eastern Mediterranean opened in Cyprus, southwest of the capital Nicosia. After around 1.5 years of construction, this created new conditions for research and innovation in space technology.

Beekweg solar park
The solar park Beekweg in the Dutch municipality Reuver went into operation in September 2023. The total of 8,400 solar panels generate an electrical output of up to 5.0 megawatts at peak times. With the forecast annual production of 2.3 million KWh, more than 1,700 households can be supplied with electricity.

Pater Eustachiuslaan solar park
In 2023, the approximately 8-hectare Pater Eustachiuslaan solar park in the Dutch town of Aarle-Rixtel (municipality of Laarbeck) went into operation. The total of 14,000 solar panels generate an electrical output of up to 8.5 megawatts. Thanks to the ground-mounted photovoltaic system, 2,900 households can be supplied with electricity over the course of a year.

The new COMPASS-U fusion reactor research facility of the Institute of Plasma Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences is currently under construction in Prague. This reactor, called a tokamak, replaces its less powerful predecessor COMPASS and represents an important building block in the European research programme, the long-term goal of which is to generate the much-discussed fusion energy.

Extension building of dopa diamond tools
Founded in Berlin in 1990, "dopa Entwicklungsgesellschaft für Oberflächenbearbeitungstechnologie mbH" (development company for surface processing technology) develops and produces diamond tools, precision optics and semiconductor substrates, and is active in mechanical and plant engineering. City S-Bahn S21 at Berlin Central Station

With the Speicherstadt, Hamburg is closing the gap between the city center and HafenCity. The high-quality Katharinenquartier was built here on an area of around 8,700 square meters. All buildings were provided with elaborate clinker facades, for which products of the PohlCon brand JORDAHL were used.

Substation Stadorf
In 2020, the transmission system operator Tennet TSO GmbH began an extensive modernisation of its substation in Stadorf, Saxony. As part of the expansion, the plant will receive Germany's first Thyristor Controlled Series Capacitors (TCSC), which makes it possible to artificially reduce line resistances.

Up to now, there has only been one north-south line for the tram in Magdeburg. In order to connect even more districts and residents to the tram network, work has been underway since the 1990s on a 2nd north-south connection. FAIR particle accelerator facility
In the coming years, one of the largest particle accelerator facilities in the world will be built in the north of Darmstadt: FAIR (Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research). Motorway enclosure
One of the busiest roads in Switzerland runs through the Schwamendingen district of Zurich. More than 120,000 vehicles pollute the residential area every day. The aim of the enclosure is to minimise adverse effects on the quality of life, especially noise and exhaust fumes. The enclosure extends over a length of 940 m and also includes the extension of the existing Schöneicht tunnel.

Urban tunnel construction at the future railway station
Since 2017, construction work on Bern's future railway station has dominated the cityscape around the station area. The aim is to build a new underground station, as the existing one has reached its capacity. The station, which opened in 1965, was designed for 16,000 passengers/day at the time and is now used by around 60,000 passengers/day.

City University
The University of Zurich (UZH) continues to grow, construction phase by construction phase. Since 1973, the Irchel campus has been renovated, densified and expanded. A central square is to be created for each sub-area, offering opportunities to meet and linger. The entire area will be developed with a superordinate pedestrian and bicycle path system.

The representative seat of the deputies of Prague 7 is located on U Průhon Street in the Holešovice district. The massive, brick-red facade of the town hall building is held by our correctional anchors. The building, which stands in the immediate vicinity of the former Holešovice brewery, was originally the seat of a bank.

FOUR skyscrapers depict
FOUR Frankfurt, a skyscrapers depict unique in Europe, is being built in the middle of Frankfurt's city centre. In the centre of the Frankfurt skyline, four new high-rise buildings will be built on a multi-storey podium with approximately 213,000 square metres of floor space. Up to 1,000 people will live and around 4,000 employees will work in the innovative and sustainable quarter.

Since 2017, the head office of VR-Bank Ostalb eG has been located in Aalen. The building has an area of 6,500 m², where approximately 150 employees can welcome their customers. A lack of places in nurseries and crèches provided the impetus for building an early childhood educational and childcare facility in Freiburg-Betzenhausen. Since 2014, around 90 children have been playing and capering on a total area of 1600 m² divided between two floors.

Modern, efficient and sustainable. The "Office in Kulturpark" building by project developers STRABAG Real Estate GmbH is outstanding due to the sustainable quality of the building. The modern office complex in Wiesbaden comprises a rental area of approximately 9000 m² and provides around 450 people with an efficient workplace.

Paper mill
At the end of 2013, Europe's biggest kraft paper machine went into operation in Pöls in Austria. The largest manufacturer of market pulp in Central and Eastern Europe the Heinzel Group invested a total of approximately 115 million euros for the machine, which is 100 m in length.

Modern architecture meets the charm of times gone by in the ""detached houses in Mühlenpark"" project in Aachen-Laurensberg. Those participating in the project demonstrated that they had a flair for taste, location and design. Edeka new building
The Bogenhausen-Daglfing district of Munich has been home to a new Edeka supermarket since autumn 2014. Several products from the company H-BAU Technik were used in the complex, which is 1400 m² in size. The new development PENTAFLEX KB® Plus combines a reliable joint seal for pressurised water with the creation of an equipotential bonding conductor which is required in accordance with DIN 18014.

New construction of the St. Trinitatis Provost Church
Considerable structural damage to the old Provost Church in Leipzig made the construction of a new church inevitable. The Catholic Provost community will be returning to the city centre of Leipzig where the new church will face the new town hall. The community was displaced from the old church after the 2nd World War.

The Kontorhaus in Arnulfpark
In a new central Munich district called Arnulfpark, businesses can find an impressive home for their operations: The Kontorhaus. The development is managed by the Europe-wide real estate company, CA Immo. With 12 floors and approximately 25,000 m² floor space, the tower is not only visible from distance – the top floors also offer spellbinding views of Munich and the Alps.

European Hansemuseum
A combination of handcrafted bricks, gothic features and a tight schedule meant designing a façade for the new museum building presented a real challenge. The same was true when it came to supporting the brickwork – the distinctive building design meant that many of the JORDAHL GmbH brackets ordered were unique, custom-made pieces.
