EDGE Friedrichspark, located not far from Ostbahnhof, is set to become one of the capital’s most innovative and sustainable office districts. The focus is on modern working environments in line with the ‘New Work’ concept, as well as resource efficiency and climate neutrality in accordance with the highest certification standards.
The building complex comprises three interconnected structures with a gross floor area of around 39,000 m². A large, landscaped inner courtyard and numerous outdoor areas with workspaces create a campus-like environment that combines productivity with relaxation. Thanks to photovoltaic systems, heat pumps and an ice storage system, the buildings can be operated without the use of fossil fuels.
PohlCon met the complex requirements of the construction project with comprehensive solutions in the field of cable support systems and electrical installation. A total of 6,200 metres of the perforated RG cable tray was used, enabling orderly and future-proof cable routing in various areas of the building – variable RBV 60 cable tray bends allow for flexible horizontal changes in the direction of the cable routing. Around 3,600 MA centre suspensions and 1,500 KDU ceiling brackets, in conjunction with the KW and KWMS brackets, ensure stable and durable fixing of the cable routes. Vertical cable routing between storeys and in the roof area was achieved using 1,200 metres of LGG vertical ladders. The client also relied on solutions from PohlCon for localised power and data supply. 600 UEK3 R installation units enable a needs-based and user-friendly supply to workstations; adaptable equipment cups provide the necessary flexibility for this.
The EDGE Friedrichspark is a prime example of the combination of sustainable architecture, modern working practices and cutting-edge building technology. PohlCon’s solutions help to meet these requirements in an efficient and durable manner.
