In Frankfurt’s City Ost district, the Hafenpark Quartier is taking shape as a modern urban quarter that seamlessly combines residential, commercial, hospitality and leisure facilities. Around 600 flats, several hotels and office space are being built on the 34,000 m² site. With its sophisticated architecture, the quarter sets new standards in urban design along the banks of the River Main; its proximity to the European Central Bank lends the location additional prestige.
A key component of the Hafenpark Quartier is the ANQR office complex. With seven storeys and a gross floor area of over 60,000 m², the building combines high-quality working environments with innovative smart-building technologies and a sustainable, fossil-free energy concept. PohlCon supported the construction project with products from the formwork and reinforcement sectors.
RAPIDOBAT® smooth formwork tubes were selected for the construction of the concrete columns. They enabled the columns to be constructed both precisely and cost-effectively. Thanks to the integrated film, the high quality requirements for the exposed concrete surfaces were met. The formwork tubes were manufactured and supplied in various diameters and custom lengths to meet specific requirements – totalling just under 2,000 metres.
To prevent punching shear failure of the floor slabs, JDA punching shear reinforcement was used. In structurally critical areas, it increases the punching shear resistance and load-bearing capacity of the concrete. The reinforcement consists of a metal strip with welded-on anchor heads, allowing it to be integrated quickly and precisely into the floor reinforcement. In total, just under 11,000 pieces of JDA punching shear reinforcement were installed.
PohlCon was able to demonstrate the effectiveness of its solutions in this major project and reliably meet the client’s specific requirements. Thanks to close coordination with the client, IBB Holding, the project objectives were successfully achieved on schedule.
