PohlCon is strengthening its management team: alongside Oliver D. Gessert as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Dominik Frimberger will take on the roles of Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Chief Technology Officer (CTO). With this move, PohlCon is sending a clear signal for the future, with the aim of further optimising processes, driving innovation and sustainably strengthening its competitiveness.
Dominik Frimberger brings with him many years of experience across various industrial sectors. Following an apprenticeship as an industrial mechanic and a degree in mechanical engineering from the Technical University of Berlin, he began his professional career in the automotive industry. There, he was initially responsible for projects in the areas of maintenance and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), before going on to manage two production sites as plant manager. Further roles in the semiconductor, optics and tooling industries, as well as, most recently, overall responsibility for a major-accident hazard facility, have expanded his profile to include extensive experience in production, engineering, process optimisation and safety management.
“My personal guiding principles are: safety, quality and productivity,” says the new managing director, describing his management approach. “When health and safety and ergonomics are in order, downtime is reduced. If quality is high, we avoid waste and rework. When safety and quality are assured, the foundations are laid for high productivity.”
Over the coming months, his focus will be on getting to know the plants, the staff and the technical and operational processes in detail. In doing so, he is adopting a partnership-based approach and favouring bespoke solutions over standardised concepts.
“I want to understand the company’s DNA,” he explains. “There’s no point in forcing strategies through. Successful concepts must fit with the people, the processes and the corporate culture.”
Drawing on his experience, Dominik Frimberger aims to drive forward PohlCon’s technical development and operational performance in a targeted manner. A key priority in this regard is looking to the future:
“I am convinced that we must invest continuously. We won’t get anywhere with outdated approaches. Now I have the opportunity to play an active role in shaping things, true to the motto ‘Partner from start to future.’ And that is exactly what I am looking forward to.”
