The trade fair highlights

The decline in trade fair participation due to the coronavirus crisis was no longer noticeable in 2024. This was clearly reflected in the high exhibitor and visitor numbers. PohlCon was in no way inferior and was able to enjoy a full event calendar. Our biggest trade fair successes included our participation in Light + Building in Frankfurt/Main, Solar Solutions in Amsterdam, Intersolar in Munich and the three editions of Architect@Work in Munich, Berlin and Frankfurt/Main.

We offered the international audience at Light + Building, the renowned world's leading trade fair for lighting and building technology, an exciting mix of products from the fit-out division. Whether
cable support systems for industrial plants or data centers, components for functional maintenance and smart product solutions for the underfloor segment - there was something exciting for everyone.

For the subsidiary PohlCon Solar, Solar Solutions and Intersolar were the trade fair highlights of the year. Both events proved to be the ideal platform for presenting its high-quality mounting systems and substructures for photovoltaic and large-scale solar installations.

The Architect@Work in Frankfurt/Main was the crowning glory of the trade fair year. At the networking platform for architects and planners, PohlCon shone with SystemPLUS, an award-winning room system for elegant ceiling design and a selection of modern underfloor solutions.

The fire protection days

After a waiting period due to the pandemic, PohlCon and our cooperation partner Datwyler IT Infra hosted the Fire Protection Days again in 2024. The series of events took place in Hanover, Berlin, Ratingen and Munich and dealt with the complex topic of fire protection and functional integrity. Not an easy subject, but a very important one that still raises many questions due to the large number of standards, laws and approvals.

With the help of the presentations and discussions at the Fire Protection Days, many gaps in knowledge could be closed and uncertainties eliminated. More safety in terms of safety - this claim and this goal of the Fire Protection Days 2024 was fulfilled for everyone involved.

Terminal 3 of Franfurt airport is scheduled to open in 2026 with three gates and a capacity of up to 19 million passengers per year.

PohlCon's reference highlights

We are very proud that PohlCon was also part of many ambitious construction projects in 2024. Thanks to our wide range of products, our expertise in special solutions and our installation services, we were an important partner for our customers in the realization of their construction projects.

PohlCon's most impressive references this year include the new terminal at Frankfurt/Main Airport, the Horchheim Tunnel near Koblenz and the building complexes "An der Hörn" in Kiel and "FOUR", also in Frankfurt/Main.

With almost 60 million passengers (2023), the airport in the banking metropolis is Germany's largest and Europe's sixth largest airport. Fraport AG is constantly expanding its infrastructure to cope with rising passenger numbers and has been building a new, third terminal since 2015. With over 140 employees from various specialist departments, PohlCon has also been on site since 2021.

PohlCon was already selected as a reliable manufacturer and partner for the shell construction phase. However, the dimensions of the airport project are particularly evident in the scope of the order for the technical building equipment: PohlCon produced, supplied and installed 123 km of cable trays, almost 50 km of climbing routes and C-rails as well as 14 km of KHU profiles.

We are continuing to supervise this major project in order to successfully complete it together with Fraport AG, probably by 2026.

A brief outlook

The year 2025 will certainly be no less exciting. We are also kicking off with a very special event. From January 13 to 17, we will be exhibiting at BAU, the world's leading trade fair for architecture, materials and systems in Munich. We will be presenting exhibits from the precast elements, façade and balcony application areas as well as from the formwork, sealing and sound insulation product categories. We are particularly looking forward to one highlight of our stand: the new tunnel module, which presents an installation situation for our shell and finishing elements.
