Cable support and floor installation systems in the new TU Mathematics Building

Rohbau mit bodentiefen Fenstern und Bodenkanalsystem

With the construction of the new Institute of Mathematics, the Technical University of Berlin is expanding its East Campus with a forward-looking teaching and research building. From 2027, around 2,500 students and 600 staff will find modern working, learning and research facilities there across more than 15,000 square metres – including lecture theatres, seminar rooms, a library and a cafeteria.

Cable support: our speciality

PohlCon supported this challenging construction project with comprehensive solutions in the field of cable support and floor installation systems. To ensure safe and flexible cable routing, around 4,700 metres of cable trays and mesh cable trays, as well as 1,000 metres of cable ladders, were supplied and installed. To securely fix the cable trays to walls and ceilings, 900 brackets, 880 bracket supports, 4,500 perforated profile rails and 4,500 threaded rods were installed, in addition to countless connecting, fixing and accessory elements.

In addition, PohlCon installed a project-specific, screed-flush underfloor duct system in a heavy-duty design – totalling 570 metres. It enables orderly cable routing within the floor and provides convenient access to the media connections via integrated floor boxes.

With this project, PohlCon once again demonstrates its expertise in complex educational and research buildings, as well as its role as a reliable partner for modern infrastructure projects.
