In Frankfurt’s City East district, a new urban centre is taking shape with the Hafenpark Quartier. Covering around 34,000 m², a versatile urban quarter is being developed that combines living, working, hospitality and leisure facilities. The area is characterised, amongst other things, by the ANQR office complex, which, with seven storeys and more than 60,000 m² gross floor area, sets new standards for modern working environments. Innovative smart building technologies and a fossil-free energy concept underline the building’s forward-looking ethos.
For the construction of the office complex, IBB Holding relied on the expertise of PohlCon. Solutions from the fields of formwork and reinforcement were employed, meeting both the functional and aesthetic requirements of the project.
Formwork for high-quality exposed concrete columns
RAPIDOBAT® lined formwork tubes were used to construct the concrete columns. They enabled precise and cost-effective construction and, thanks to their integrated film, contributed significantly to achieving the required quality of the exposed concrete surfaces. Production was tailored to the project’s specific requirements: the formwork tubes were manufactured and supplied in various diameters and lengths. A total of just under 2,000 metres were used.
JDA ensures the load-bearing capacity of the floor slabs
PohlCon solutions were also required for the floor slab reinforcement. To prevent punching shear failure of the floor slabs, JDA punching shear reinforcement was installed. In areas subject to particularly high structural loads, it increases the punching shear resistance and thus the load-bearing capacity of the concrete. Its design, comprising a metal strip with welded-on anchor heads, allows for quick and precise integration into the floor reinforcement. A total of just under 11,000 JDA elements were installed.
The Hafenpark Quartier demonstrates how the diverse requirements of modern architecture, construction and cost-effectiveness can be met with tailor-made solutions. Through close coordination with IBB Holding, PohlCon was able to tailor its products to the specific needs of the construction project and make a significant contribution to ensuring it was completed on schedule.
