Large-scale solar thermal systems represent a sustainable solution for heat supply – especially for municipal district heating networks, residential areas, or industrial processes. They generate directly usable heat and achieve high efficiency levels. The combination of a durable substructure and efficient collector technology makes these systems particularly economical and low-maintenance. Outdoor installation also offers the advantage of being able to install larger collector areas independently of roof space – ideal for projects with high heat requirements. PohlCon Solar offers tailor-made substructures “Made in Germany” that are statically tested, easy to install, and designed for durability.

Substructures for your solar thermal project

Our substructures are specially designed for large-scale solar thermal open-space systems. They consist of robust, hot-dip galvanized steel profiles and, thanks to their modular design, can be flexibly adapted to different collector types and site conditions. Depending on the subsoil, the profiles are anchored by driving them into the ground or using point concrete foundations, which guarantee high stability even in changing soil conditions. The supporting structure is designed to accommodate tube or flat-plate collectors and allows them to be optimally aligned with the sun, ensuring maximum thermal yield.
