With all three WCPS systems, PohlCon is now represented in the KUKA Ecosystem and is showcasing its solutions for contactless floor-based charging to an international audience of robotics professionals.

Robotics manufacturer KUKA is one of the world’s leading providers of intelligent automation solutions. Through its ‘Robotic Republic’ ecosystem, the company combines its robotics expertise with complementary technologies from other manufacturers.

This cross-industry marketplace brings together hardware and software from various providers to facilitate the planning and implementation of bespoke robotic applications. PohlCon is now also represented on the platform with its wireless charging infrastructure solutions (WCPS) – featuring all three systems: the top floor plateau solution, the in-ground solution and the raised-floor solution.

Being part of the KUKA Ecosystem gives us the opportunity to present our charging infrastructure portfolio to an international specialist audience within the immediate context of KUKA robotics. Users and integrators can consider WCPS when selecting suitable components and incorporate it into project planning at an early stage. This strengthens our presence in mobile robotics and creates further opportunities for joint automation projects.

“The example of KUKA x PohlCon demonstrates particularly well that successful ecosystems emerge where complementary product solutions come together to form a reliable partnership, thereby creating added value for the customer.”

Contactless charging via the floor

WCPS enables the integration of our partner Wiferion’s inductive charging pads into the floor, protecting them from mechanical stress. This creates charging points precisely where the robots stop as part of the production and logistics process anyway. With the three listed models – WCPS Plateau, In-Ground and Raised Floor – solutions are available to meet a range of structural requirements.

Robots equipped with the relevant technology can thus utilise process-related stops to recharge contactlessly via the floor. This reduces the need for additional trips to separate charging stations and increases the fleet’s availability.

We are delighted to have been included in the KUKA Ecosystem and look forward to making our solutions for the efficient power supply of mobile robots available to further users and project partners.
