The Technical Tax Office, the IT service provider for the Senate Finance Administration and the tax offices in Berlin, is to expand and will be given new headquarters at Kniprodestraße 31. For this purpose, an existing building, a 12-story prefabricated slab building from GDR times, will be renovated and a modern extension will be built.
For the technical building equipment we supplied approx. 1500 m of closed cable trays R 60-40 powder-coated in white (RAL 9010) and another 1200 m of perforated cable trays RG 60 in various widths. For the supporting structures, approx. 1000 m of KHU-60 profiles were used, as well as 700 m of KHA 8 profile rails, 1250 KDU 60 and KDU 57 bracket holders, over 2800 KW and KWMS brackets (of which almost 1800 were powder-coated in white), and 650 m of LGG 60 climbing tracks in various widths.
We overcame various challenges during the project: For example, the bracket holders could not be installed on the ceiling using knock-in dowels, as is usually the case. Instead, they had to be fastened to the floor above by means of threaded rods with a lock. For optical reasons, all bracket holders were also shortened so that they were flush with the brackets. They were then repainted on site. In the basement and in the technical rooms, no bracket holders were allowed to be mounted on the ceiling. The solution: We braced KHU profiles between the walls as a substructure on which the cable trays could be supported.
Our underfloor systems were used for professional cable routing in the floor, including screed-covered UK trunking, UBDHB350 cavity floor boxes and UEK3 V plastic hinged ceiling units.
