The formwork plays a decisive role in determining the quality and individual appearance of exposed concrete surfaces - important design elements in modern architecture. Whether as simple formwork for wall foundations, as wall formwork or as an elaborate structure in stadium or tunnel construction - formwork is a stable, tight and dimensionally stable hollow form into which fresh concrete is poured to produce concrete components. At the same time, they transfer the resulting forces to the substructure. After the concrete has hardened, the formwork is usually removed.
