The Schöneberg district of Berlin is home to a gasometer that was decommissioned in 1995. It is clearly visible from afar and is an eye-catcher when passing by on the S-Bahn or on the nearby city highway. The 78-metre-high scaffolding has shaped the cityscape of Berlin for 110 years, is considered a striking landmark of Schöneberg and today forms the center of the EUREF campus.
The 5.5-hectare urban quarter is a symbol of the energy transition and is home to over 150 companies and research institutions in the fields of sustainability, energy and mobility. The aim of the "Smart City" concept of the EUREF-Campus is sustainable urban development. The site has a climate-neutral energy supply; as early as 2014, the site met the CO2 climate targets set for 2045.
PohlCon has been installing cable support and underground systems on the EUREF Campus in the Gasometer since June 2022. PohlCon has already supplied and installed 1,200 meters of RG cable trays, 1,200 meters of LGG and STU riser trays, 400 meters of G 50 mesh cable trays and 1,000 UEK3-R floor installation units.
