H-BAU Technik GRIPRIP® construction elements are fabric tapes made of aramid fibres. They are used as butt joint anchoring or structural masonry reinforcement. Their thin fabric means they can also be used in conjunction with thin-bed and lightweight mortars. They strengthen the masonry, improve crack resistance and reduce the risk of injury on construction sites. GRIPRIP® neither causes corrosion in the bearing joint nor transmits sound. The aramid fibres are heat-resistant polyamides which have high fatigue strength, high elongation at break and very good continuous vibration behaviour. They are available in two different shapes.
Advantages
- Can be used universally in any mortar including in lightweight and thin-bed mortars
- Easy to cut on site without special tools
- Height offsets can be easily compensated
- Reduced transverse expansion in the joint area; especially important for lightweight mortars
- Corrosion resistant in masonry bearing joints
- Can be used in seismic zones due to excellent continuous vibration behaviour
- No sound transmission
- Significantly reduced risk of injury compared to conventional systems
