One step closer to the energy transition

With PohlCon Solar, we are supporting the path to resource-saving energy generation. This is clearly demonstrated by our subsidiary's current reference projects.

In spring 2024, the European Commission signed a European Solar Charter with 23 EU states and representatives of the European photovoltaic industry. It is intended to support the production of solar modules in Europe.

As a specialist in photovoltaic mounting systems, PohlCon Solar also contributes to achieving these goals with each of its projects. Five references stand out in particular due to their size and the power of the solar cells: the Dutch solar parks Pater Eustachiuslaan and Beekweg as well as the German ground-mounted systems in Hofbieber, Altgolßen and Zernitz-Lohm.

Solar projects in the Netherlands

The approximately eight-hectare Pater Eustachiuslaan solar park in the Dutch town of Aarle-Rixtel not only impresses with its size, but also with the total number of 14,000 solar panels. They generate an electrical output of up to 8.5 megawatts. Thanks to the ground-mounted photovoltaic system, 2,900 households can be supplied with electricity over the course of a year.

The solar park Beekweg in the Dutch city Reuver is similarly impressive. Since 2023, a total of 8,400 solar panels have been generating an electrical output of up to 5.0 megawatts. With a predicted annual production of 2.3 million KWh, more than 1,700 households will receive electricity from the plant.

The solar panels of both solar parks rest on substructures in the two-post system from PohlCon Solar, which enables various layout solutions. Almost 300 tons of steel were used for the support systems for Beekweg and Pater Eustachiuslaan - consisting of different types of profile rails. In addition to manufacturing the system, PohlCon Solar also took care of the planning and assembly on site.

Solar projects in Germany

In Hofbieber, a large municipality in the Hessian Rhön Nature Park, a two-hectare ground-mounted PV system has been built that produces 1.5 megawatts of electricity - enough to cover the annual needs of 450 households. Single-post systems from PohlCon Solar were used for the solar panels - substructures that are particularly suitable for very hard and stony ground.

The state of Brandenburg offers plenty of scope for PV parks. One example is the two large ground-mounted systems in Zernitz-Lohm and Altgolßen, which generate an electrical output of 6.3 megawatts each. Two-post systems from PohlCon Solar were used for both plants. In Altgolßen alone, 14,028 modules were supplied and installed.

“The photovoltaic sector is one of the keys to achieving our energy, climate and competitiveness goals,” said EU Energy Commissioner Kadri Simson at the signing of the Solar Charter. All projects are a further step towards these goals and PohlCon Solar's PV mounting systems are part of this transformation of our energy production.
