The Institute for Loss Prevention and Loss Research (IFS) carried out almost 2,000 fire investigations in Germany in 2023. Essentially, fires that caused significant damage in and to buildings were investigated. The analysis clearly shows that the most frequent fires are related to electricity*.
This result underlines the importance of correct technical fire protection. This primarily includes fire protection in technical building equipment and fire protection using technical equipment and systems. These topics are of great importance for PohlCon, manufacturer of cable management systems, as well as for our business partner Dätwyler, supplier of cable systems.
All good things come in fours
For this reason, the challenges of optimum fire protection and functional integrity became the focus of a series of events organized by both companies: the Fire Protection Days. In 2024, PohlCon and Datwyler hosted three of these events: In Hanover, Ratingen and Berlin, guests were able to listen to presentations by various experts and ask questions about fire protection as part of a panel discussion. The last event of the year will take place on November 7th in Munich.
As at previous events, Olaf Sieper, Sales Representative of Datwyler IT Infra, will once again be the master of ceremonies. The speakers at the Munich Fire Protection Day will be:
- Erik Vogler, Head of Technology & Product Development Expansion / Cable Routing, PohlCon GmbH
- Peter Pardeyke, Product Manager, Dätwyler IT Infra GmbH
- Dipl.-Ing. Michael Ulman, test expert BMA/SAA, Managing Partner of KK FIRE INSPECT GmbH
- Wolfgang Junghenn, lawyer / partner, specialist lawyer for construction and architectural law
Knowledge protects
The range of topics extends from the planning phase of fire protection to the challenges during and after implementation. Whether it's information on necessary certificates, dealing with third-party installations or labeling obligations - the extensive know-how of the experts will enable participants to master the everyday challenges of fire protection and functional integrity more safely in the future. We look forward to an exciting exchange with our discussion partners and the audience!
