Walkable floor ducts by PohlCon GmbH

Tested safety: Floor ducts protect people and technology

Safety is our top priority. That's why we ensure maximum occupational safety and reliable cable routing with our walkable floor ducts.

In the manufacturing industry, numerous power and data cables as well as hydraulic and pneumatic lines are routed along the floor. On the one hand, these must themselves be protected: from mechanical effects and flying sparks. On the other hand, occupational safety must be ensured: production workers should be able to move safely without being exposed to the risk of tripping or slipping. The walkable floor ducts from PohlCon are designed for this and guarantee the greatest possible protection for people and technology.

Walkable, sure-footed and non-slip

Our floor ducts are walkable: With a maximum compartment size of 200 mm, a tested load capacity of up to max. 5 kN (500 kg) has been proven for our covers, depending on the version. However, their walkability requires another important aspect: they must be sure-footed and non-slip so that production workers can walk on them without danger. According to DIN 51130 and DGUV Rule 108-003, floor coverings with slip-resistant properties are mandatory in workrooms and work areas with slip hazards. Our floor duct covers as well as formed part covers with the type description RHP have the slip resistance class R 12 – for maximum work safety.

EMC protection

As more and more powerful electrical components are used in industrial plants, the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) of cable support systems is becoming increasingly important. The aim of EMC protection is to exclude mutual interference, i.e. electromagnetic interference, in order to guarantee the full functionality of all technical systems. With our separators, we guarantee a standard and professional separation of data lines and power cables in the floor duct and, in combination with the covers, also ensure the electromagnetic compatibility of our floor ducts according to DIN CLC/ TR 50659.

Electrically conductive

According to DIN EN 61537, cable support systems must have sufficient electrical conductivity. Potential equalisation, also known as grounding, refers to a connection of all conductive housing parts of electrical equipment to an earthed conductor, and serves primarily to protect against electric shock. It ensures that electrical potential differences (voltages) are prevented. Our floor ducts have pre-stamped slugs on the sides that can be easily knocked out. Potential collecting blocks can be attached to the resulting perforations in order to include the floor duct system in the potential equalisation of the entire system.
